The beautiful town of Leeton is situated approximately six hours drive from Sydney and 5 hours from Melbourne. The town is easily accessible from the Newell, Sturt and Hume Highways.Leeton is the Heart of the Murrumbidgee Irrigation Area – a part of the “Food Bowl” of NSW.

Formed in 1912, Leeton and the surrounding area’s are renowned for the abundance and quality of crops as diverse as Rice, Canola, Wheat and various other grains as well as Citrus and Stone Fruits. The region is also the largest grape growing area in N.S.W. A combination of rich soils, warm climate and plentiful water ensure this.

The ability to grow these crops is the result of an extensive irrigation system, which is fed by the Burrunjuck and Blowering Dams. Developed by Pioneer, Sir Samuel McCaughey, the irrigation water has become the lifeblood of the region – responsible for ensuring the future of this wonderful town.

Leeton is also home to a many other successful industries including SunRice, Celair Malmet, JBS Riverina Beef and Feedlot, Freedom Foods, Lion Dairy & Drinks, Webster Walnuts and Southern Cotton Gin to name just a few.
